This is a 10* TOP NL SIDE PLAY on the Marlins.
We think the home side is worth the price of admission in this matchup.
The visitors go with Riley Smith. Smith was called up last Wednesday to face the Friars and he gave up three runs over four innings. The rookie has earned another start, more out of necessity though than anything else.
The hungry home side, which has lost three in a row, sends its ace to the mound Sandy Alcantara.
He's 1-2, but he comes in off his best start of the year, earning a win by conceding two runs off five hits with four K's and zero walks over seven innings vs. the Brewers on Wednesday.
Over 36.2 frames of work, Alcantara now owns an impressive 36:11 K:BB (also a 0.98 WHIP.)
Arizona has frankly been over-performing on the road this season definitely considering some of the key injuries it has in its line-up right now.
Look for the hungrier home side with the vastly superior starter on the hill to deliver in the opener of this three-game set.
The play is MIAMI.
Good luck, NP
