Miami trailed by 14 points in the first half of Game 1 before rallying back for the victory. They trailed by 17 points in Game 2 and by 13 in the first half of Game 3. Jimmy Butler: “I think it gets old, playing from behind consistently. Especially against a great team like Boston and what they bring to the table……we have to play basketball the way we have been playing the games that we have been winning. We understand that… There’s nothing that coach can say. We get it. We have to be the one who fix that.” When Jimmy Butler wants to ‘fix that’, I’m a believer that he can and will get his team to ‘fix that’.
The extra rest might have helped the Celtics in the long run; a team that desperately needed a break following their grueling seven game series against the Raptors. But Miami is going to be every bit as fresh as Boston, and I’m expecting some STRONG first half intensity from the team that got a wake up call four days ago and has been stewing about it ever since.
