I'm playing on CINCINNATI. The Reds hurt me yesterday. They were leading the entire way but gave up three runs in the ninth inning and went on to lose in the 10th. Its a new day though and I'm willing to wipe the slate clean and give them another shot this afternoon. Hoffman's career numbers look pretty ugly. However, keep in mind that he's been pitching in Colorado. Now that he's out of Coors, he's 2-1 with a 2.93 ERA thus far for the Reds. The loss came in his lone road start, at Arizona, against these same Diamondbacks. Here at home, however, he's 2-0 with a 1.64 ERA.To his credit, Widener has been pitching well. Lets keep in mind that this is only his fourth career start though and that the Reds will now be facing him for the second time in less than two weeks. The Reds hit him harder than any other team has thus far and now will be familiar with him. Desperate to stop the bleeding, expect them to bounce back with a much-needed win.
