8* Take the LA Dodgers (#962)
The Dodgers bats have produced four runs or more in every game so far in this series; a lineup studded with future Hall of Famers. They saw Blake Snell just last week, and while Snell was sharp, this Dodgers lineup has eviscerated lefties all season, and I want my money on LA in a ‘short turnaround second look’ against any southpaw starter. And it’s surely worth noting that the Dodgers have had offensive success against Tampa’s bullpen throughout the series – even if Snell throws another gem, LA is live for a late inning rally.
Dave Roberts, talking about Tony Gonsolin in Game 6 after using him as an opener in Game 2: “Tony’s a starting pitcher tomorrow. I hope to get five or six innings.” Gonsolin: “(The day off between games is) good for us resetting our bullpen, which is huge….we’ll all be ready for Game 6.” Rays manager Dave Cash knows what’s coming: “They could get pretty creative; they’ve got a thick bullpen, go right -left-right-left…..A lot to consider.” The Rays have scored two runs twice in their last three games. No surprise here if they struggle to reach three runs again tonight, as the Dodgers finally clinch their title. Take LA.
