3.5 BOS (-105) @ betway |
It cannot be overstated how much the Celtics missed Marcus Smart (right mid-foot sprain) in Game 1 on Tuesday night in Miami. Al Horford (health and safety protocols) was also missed and with him unlikely to play again tonight, Boston will once again be without its versatile big man. That said, assuming Smart returns, then I see the Celtics evening up this series. The re-addition of Smart would send Derrick White back to a bench, which is a role he’s more suited for on this Boston team.
The Celtics have also been profitable coming off a loss. They’re a perfect 4-0 at the window in their last four games following defeat and are 4-0 ATS in their last four games after failing to cover in their previous contest. Despite losing SU and ATS in Game 1 as an underdog, they’re 7-1-1 against the number in their last nine games as a betting dog, as well.
Even though I could easily see Boston winning outright, I like the value we’re currently receiving with the spread. If the Celtics declare Smart healthy enough to play, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the number drop a half or even a full point, so jump on Boston now.
