The Angels have lost 5 straight games. Today’ starter Sandoval got their last win against today’s opponent the A’s. He allowed zero runs in April, regressed somewhat in May, but held the A’s to just 1 run over 6+ innings in his last start. Walks have been an issue, but solid contact has not.

The Angels are a very solid hitting team but have been less effective against left-handers. They face a good one in Cole irvin today. He gave up just 2 runs over 16 innings in his last 3 starts, but has been on the IL for the last couple of weeks. Irvin looked good in his rehab start, so expect him to return in form today.

The A’s at just 7-13 have struggled in May. Hitting has been the issue; Oakland is the cellar dweller, hitting just .212 for avg. and .595 OPS over the last two weeks. They had no success vs. Sandoval last time out. The Angels have struggled vs. Irvin in the past, and against left-handers lately. I am on the early total today, Sunday’s best bet in the A’s and Angels matchup. Shop around and take the over in the first 5 innings.
