Kohei Arihara, first off, is 0-2 with a 10.80 ERA at home this year. That would give me less pause if it wasn’t at the Rangers ballpark, which has not allowed home runs much at all. Given the stadium that 10.80 ERA is even worse. Over 52% of the balls in play hit off of him have been considered hard hit. He’s pitching against a team that is coming down to earth offensively, but I don’t think his extra rest off that finger issue will help him too much here
-Swanson/Newsome will open for the Mariners, and that hasn’t gone well this year. Both guys have ERA’s over 5.3 and FIP’s over 5.6. Swanson has been far worse away from Seattle, and his 4 appearances against Texas have allowed 15 runs in under 9 innings. The bullpens here aren’t good, and I think the offenses are pretty even. An even matchup throughout should yield some offense on both ends rather than a blowout before shutting it down.
