(79) San Jose vs. St. Louis (80) 9:00 PM | Wed, Jan 20 2021
Sport: NHL | Star Rating: 10.0 Evaluation: Loss (-1190) - Final Total 3
|Over 5.5 (-119) @ pinnacle|
-San Jose’s defense is in absolute shambles; they’re playing their top 2 defenseman 30+ minutes per game because the rest of the roster is pretty much minor leaguers, and their starting goalie has the 2nd worst road Save % in the NHL since the start of last year.
-Over 5.5 is 5-1 between these two teams this year. I usually would not be swayed by that stat if one team was winning games 5-1 or losing games 6-0 because it’s not sustainable on either side, but San Jose has scored 11 and given up 13 so far in 3 games, and STL has scored 9 and given up 13.
-The Blues’ starter was lucky to win the game the other night, as he gave up 4 goals on 0.72 Expected Goals Against. That is also unsustainable.
-Too much juice on the Blues ML for me here; let’s go with the Over 5.5, and lock it in QUICK! It’s moving to 6 in most shops already Over! Over ! Over!
What does ‘Star Rating’ mean?
Star Rating is the number of units the handicapper is risking on the bet. Therefore, if the Star Rating is 7.0, it is a 7-unit pick. On plus odds picks, the handicapper is risking their Star Rating unit amount. On negative odds picks, the handicapper is betting enough to win their Star Rating unit amount.
