At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the New Jersey Devils over the Buffalo Sabres. They may not make the post-season this year but if you want to know what the future looks like in the NHL, you may not have to look any further than the Devils. This is a very young and talented group, led by 2019's top overall draft pick in American Jack Hughes. He may be only 19 years old, but already Hughes (who was born in Florida but grew up in Toronto) has had several plays worthy of any ESPN highlight reel. The Devils' average age of 26.1 years makes them the third-youngest team in the league heading into the season and Hughes is just one of the talented babies on this club. Following three nice wins in a row over the Bruins, Rangers, and Sabres, the Devils come into tonight off of two frustrating one-goal defeats (to the Caps and tonight's opponent). So revenge is certainly a factor for the home team, which happens to be 6-2 in the last eight meetings of these two. New Jersey is also 46-30 after back to back losses by a single goal, including a perfect 6-0 if both defeats were to a division rival.
