NYY (-105) @ bet365 |
8* Take the New York Yankees (#931)
First, in a battle between two aces, I want the proven postseason performer. Gerritt Cole went4-1 with a 1.72 ERA and an 0.87 WHIP in the playoffs last year. Shane Bieber will be making his playoff debut. And before we get too carried away with Bieber’s regular season dominance this season, it’s surely worth noting the weakness of the opposing lineups he faced – only teams from the NL and AL Central Divisions. The only team he faced all year that finished in the top half of MLB in runs scored was the White Sox. Advantage: Yankees.
Second, the Yankees lineup can hit tough righties like Bieber. Remember, the Bronx Bombers suffered a major barrage of injuries to their lineup. They still led the American League in runs scored, and enter the playoffs with every key bat healthy. The Indians, on the other hand, finished second to last in the AL in run production; not a team that has proven they can plate runs consistently against elite level hurlers! Take the Yankees.
