We picked on the Montreal Canadiens last night, and we’re doing it again tonight. You look back on their game against the Senators yesterday, and just because they were in a bad situation last night does not mean they are in a good situation tonight! Tonight the Canadiens are playing their 9th game in 14 days, AND they’re on the back end of a back-to-back with some travel. In that same 14 day time span, the Maple Leafs are only playing their 6th game.
-The Leafs are getting two nights of rest in this one, and what happened in their last game? They lost in overtime to the Canadiens in Montreal. So we have a revenge spot here, we have a much more rested team against an exhausted team traveling from Ottawa, and we have a Montreal team with very little to play for — they have essentially locked up the 4th spot in that North division, and they’re just trying to rest some guys with a tough schedule before the playoffs. I think the Leafs control this game throughout and run away with it in the 3rd period. 4-1, 5-2 final.
