Take the New York Yankees (#914)
I want the Yankees off a postseason loss, plain and simple, especially at this relatively cheap price point for the ‘home’ team tonight. Yesterday was New York’s ‘bullpen’ game, and they didn’t use up any of their best arms, leaving the back end of that pen rested and ready for tonight’s game. The Yankees lineup is clicking on all cylinders; pounding out 34 runs in their first four postseason games. Starter Masahiro Tanaka got roughed up against Cleveland last time out, but he’s got an outstanding track record against this lineup. Tampa has 189 career at bats against him, with a .210 batting average and a .640 OPS. Tanaka shut them down twice already here in 2020. Meanwhile, Rays starter Charlie Morton hasn’t recorded an out in the sixth inning or later since before his August stint on the DL and he got pulled after two innings in both previous starts against the Bronx Bombers this year. Tampa’s bullpen behind him was great yesterday, but I’m not convinced they’ll have similar success today against this potent lineup. Short chalk worth laying! Take the Yankees.
