This is a play on the SEATTLE MARINERS for our MLB Saturday Sweet Spot. Boston has won three straight games including the first two games of this series as the offense has exploded with 24 runs over that three-game stretch. The Red Sox are still five games under .500 including an 8-10 record at home and now they are favored like a team that is clearly the better one but that is far from the case. Their pitching has been above average but the offense still has a long way to go despite the recent surge. Boston is ranked No. 20 in runs scored per nine innings while sitting No. 19 in OPS. The Red Sox are 5-12 in their last 17 games when their opponent allows five runs or more in their previous game. Seattle has not been any better as it is six games under .500 following losses in four of its last five games. The road has been a struggle as the Mariners are 8-16 away from home and those 16 losses are second most in all of baseball. They have been up and down on both sides and they need to right the ship after coming into the season as a team that could contend with the Astros and Angels in the American League West but they have a lot of work to do, sitting eight games behind Houston. The Mariners are 5-2 in their last seven games following a loss.
