Saint Mary's is just highly mediocre, one of their least athletic squads in years and only shooting 32% from 3 on the year. They managed only 2 points over the last 10:36 of their home L to BYU last game. There's no reason to expect this team to put a scare into the stacked Zags. Any kind of drought and this should get real ugly.
15 is a steep line on the road, I believe this would have been a couple ticks lower if Mary's didnt go out in total disgrace down the stretch last game. But ultimately it just shouldnt matter, there's upside to more than double this spread up given the talent/athleticism mismatch. The Zags beat last year's far more dangerous Mary's team in this building by 30, and that was in front of a packed house. I just fail to see a path to Mary's competing here. Can only take the air out of the ball for so long until the Zags stretch the lead, then they'll have to shoot better than they have shown they can this year to stay in it. If UVA couldnt control tempo as the slowest paced team in the nation, how can Mary's? Not seeing it
