|4 CAR (-110) @ Pointsbet|
All over Carolina at +4. Will have them in a teaser later in the week as well. I like them to win straight up.
Panthers: I like that the Panthers only beat a bad Jets team by just 5, as it will keep them under the radar for another week. In reality, this team has both an underrated defense, and an underrated offense right now and I can only suspect Darnold will improve each passing week with more chemistry with his receivers. From preseason: "The more I look into Carolina, the more I like the outlook for this team this season. They added a lot of young prospects to this team, while Sam Darnold has a chance to perform with some real talent around him for the first time in his career – something he never had in NY. Darnold has a horrible rep for how bad he's performed in NY, but the circumstances around him there were absolutely atrocious. He had a bottom 5 offensive line, 95 year old Frank Gore in the backfield with him, extremely limited WR options, and a horrible coaching staff. This season, Darnold should have a better offensive line, better weapons' as he’ll be throwing to Robby Anderson DJ Moore and a highly touted 2nd round rookie WR, he’ll have a better coaching staff and offensive coordinator led by Joe Brady who led LSU to a championship behind an elite offense, and a huge upgrade going from Frank Gore in the backfield with him to Christian McCaffery. Not to mention, a fairly easy schedule. A QB that will be extremely motivated to resurrect his career, has now been given new life. Carolina has some potential upside this season and I wouldn't be surprised if they win 9-10 games."
Saints: New Orleans had one of the best offensive line/defensive line combinations in the entire NFL a season ago - it was their biggest strength on both sides of the ball. Green Bay on the other hand, lost two run stuffers, three offensive lineman, and saw a 4th David Bakthiari tear his ACL back in December. The week 1 battle was most likely the biggest advantage we will see all season in the trenches between two teams, thus it is no surprise the Saints had a clean pocket all game and rushed for 170 yards with very little resistance. They are not as good as they looked in this game however. During the offseason, the Saints had major salary cap issues due to Brees contracts and had to trade away 4 defensive starters including elite pass rusher Trey Hendrickson. On top of those 4 starters, they will be playing week 2 without their top CB in Marshon Lattimore, their WR1 in Michael Thomas, and another stud defensive lineman in Marcus Davenport. Everyone will be talking about New Orleans blowout victory, but we know how overrated Green Bay is right now. The Saints should not be road favorites here.
