At 10:05 pm, our selection is on the Pittsburgh Penguins over the Anaheim Ducks. No team re-tooled itself over the past week more than the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Pens added some significant talent to their offense, including forwards Jason Zucker (Minn), Riley Barber (Mon), Phil Varone (Mon), Patrick Marleau (SJ), Conor Sheary (Buf) and Evan Rodrigues (Buf). That's a total of six forwards heading to Pittsburgh to play for a club which was already loaded on the front lines. But it seems as though the pieces of the puzzle may still be figuring things out as the Pens have lost four games in a row coming into tonight -- the first time that's happened all season. A meeting with the Ducks in Anaheim may be just what the doctor ordered for the Pens as they have taken nine of the last 13 meetings, and four of the last six here at the Honda Center. That re-tooled Penguin offense should have a field day with four of Anaheim's defensive regulars either questionable or out with injuries tonight. The Ducks won their last game, in overtime, but that may not bode well for tonight as they are 4-18 their last 22 off a win, and 0-7 off an overtime victory. They're also 6-14 in their last 20 vs. teams from the East and 1-12 in their last 13 home games that had an over/under line of 6+ goals. Finally, the Pens are 9-1 off back to back road losses. Take the Penguins. 9* play. As always, good luck...Al McMordie.
