Al McMordie: BIG AL's SUNDAY NHL SLAPSHOT CLUB BLOWOUT WINNER!
There were eight first round, best-of-five playoff series in the 2020 NHL playoffs and this is the only one to go five games thanks to a crazy Game 4 in which the Maple Leafs prevailed on Friday night. Down 3-0 with less than four minutes to go in the final period, the Leafs staged a furious comeback that took it into overtime. They then prevailed in the extra stanza on an Auston Matthews power play goal. It was just the 3rd time in NHL Playoffs history that a team came back to win after being down three goals with under four minutes to play. Of course, it's also worth noting that, in Game 3, it was Columbus which came back from a three-goal deficit to win. Thus, both teams will want to make sure they don't squander a lead tonight. The Blue Jackets have now lost 14 of their last 19 games. Even worse, Columbus' best defenseman, Zach Werenski, has been downgraded to 'doubtful' with an upper body injury. That doesn't bode well for John Tortorella's men. Nor does the fact that they are averaging just 1.78 expected goals per game in the series when playing at full strength. I look for Toronto to close out Columbus tonight with a decisive win.
AAA Sports: AAA'S GAME 5 ICE BREAKER >> 37-18 RUN!
It’s come down to one game for all the marbles between Columbus and Toronto. The winner moves on to the Round of 16 while the loser’s season is done. After the Blue Jackets stunned the Maple Leafs in Game 3, rallying back from a three-goal deficit to win 4-3 in overtime, the Leafs did the exact same thing in Game 4. Albeit their rally was much more dramatic with three goals being scored in the last four minutes of regulation. They tied it up with only 23 seconds left. That is a very tough loss to get over if you’re Columbus. They also gave up 53 shots on goal. Though there are no fans, playing on home ice should provide a theoretical boost to Toronto. Momentum is on their side. Play on TORONTO
Ben Burns: GAME OF THE WEEK (NHL) ~ BIG PLAY ALERT!
You probably saw that the Leafs pulled off a truly remarkable comeback in Friday's game. The stars came out when they were needed most. That's going to give Toronto a lot of momentum and a feeling of invincibility. On the other hand, the Jackets are going to be feeling deflated. Outside of the momentum and confident factor, the Leafs simply have far more offensive firepower. Now feeling a like a "team of destiny," look for them to close the deal.
Mike Lundin: JACKETS VS LEAFS NHL POWER PLAY - 8-4 NHL PLAYOFFS!
With only four minutes to go in Friday's matchup, the Columbus Blue Jackets were cruising to a 3-0 triumph which would have clinched the series. An unprecedented Leafs comeback saw them tie the game and score the winner in overtime to force this deciding Game 5. This is a tough spot for the stunned Columbus players who must've thought they had booked their ticket to the next round already. I expect Toronto to take advantage of the momentum and come through with another win.

Key Angle: It's important to remember that Ricky never makes a bet on any game based on just one angle. In order to make the grade, all his premium picks must meet several important criteria. He doesn't share all his secrets within his analysis, instead he chooses to reveal only the angle that he feels is the most significant. Here in this game the recent history of these two teams is particularly significant.
- The Blue Jackets are 1-8 in their last 9 when their opponent allows 2 goals or less in their previous game.
- The favorite is 7-3 in the last eight meetings.
- The Leafs netminder Freddy Anderson stopped 53-of-54 shots in Games 1 and 2.
The verdict: The Leafs are on their way to eliminating the Jackets.
