Al McMordie: BIG AL's 90% MLB ROADKILL WINNER (67-34 RUN)!
Last season, the Rockies' German Marquez was a glass half-full/glass half-empty type of pitcher. On the half full side was Marquez' 12-5 record and 175 strikeouts vs. 35 walks in 174 innings (a 5:1 K:BB ratio). But on the other side was his 4.76 ERA and his league-leading 14 hit batsmen. So far in 2020, the glass has been more full than empty as the 25-year-old RH has a 2.08 ERA and 0.92 WHIP over his first four starts covering 26 innings. Even though his ERA is high at Coors Field (as is most starters'), Marquez wins here more often than not with a career 19-11 record in 46 games (45 starts) in Denver. He gets a chance to get win 20 tonight in his second career start vs. the Rangers. But Marquez's strongest angle by far is when he's a heavy favorite. Indeed, in his last 18 starts as a home favorite of at least -150, the Rockies are 18-2 (+14 games on the moneyline). This will be veteran RHP Kyle Gibson's first start in Coors Field and first vs. Colorado, and I expect the Rockies to give him a rude awakening.
Ben Burns: **14-3 THIS SEASON** SAT. 10* HIGH HEAT!
With Lynn on the mound, the Rangers got good pitching yesterday and were able to eke out a 3-2 victory. Today, however, the Rockies will have a significant edge in the starting pitching department. Through four starts, Marquez has a superb 2.08 ERA and 0.923 WHIP. He's the real deal. Gibson, on the other hand, has a 4.11 ERA and 1.566 WHIP. The Rockies are 44-25 as home favorites in the -125 to -175 range the past 2+ seasons. During the same span, the Rangers were 24-50 as road underdogs in the +125 to +175 range. Expect Marquez to outpitch and outlast Gibson, en route to another Colorado victory here.

Kyle Gibson is making his first career start agianst the Rockies. In 20 career starts vs. National League teams he is 4-11 with a 5.40 era and 159 whip. The Rangers are 2-5 in their last 7 interleague road games.
The last time he faced the Rangers on Opening Day, Márquez limited Texas to two hits and one run in 5 2/3 innings. He hasn't given up more than two earned runs in any of his three starts since. He has a 2-2 record along with a 2.08 ERA.
The Colorado Rockies are 6-0 in their last 6 Saturday games and I like them for the win today at Coor's field.
Tim Michael: 3-GAME SWEEPER PASS > > CONTAINS BOTH A 10* SIDE/TOTAL!
Kyle Gibson is 0-2 with a 4.11 ERA. He looked decent in his team debut, but then took a step back last time out vs. the Mariners on Monday, allowing four runs off nine hits over 4.1 innings. In my opinion, a date at Coors Field is not what the doctor ordered to get untracked. The home side counters with German Marquez, who is 2-2 with a 2.08 ERA and who will be eager to return to form after allowing five runs to the Mariners over seven innings in his last outing. Note though that only two were earned. Marquez had a winning home record last year and he sports a great 27/6 K/BB already this year, along with the miniscule 2.08 ERA. Expect Marquez to get the better of Gibson and lay this price!
Best of luck!
