Will Rogers: 10* EAST-COAST TOTAL *BLOOD-BATH!* (SPECIAL FOR $25!)
The set-up: Toronto averages 112.8 PPG and it allows 106.3, while Orlando averages 107.1 PPG and it concedes 107.6. Toronto has looked good defensively so far vs. the Lakers and Heat, but I think it'll finally have it hands full here with the very hungry Magic.
The pick: Orlando has been off since Sunday after demolishing the Kings 132-116 and I expect it to keep that offensive momentum rolling here (it also plays Indiana on Tuesday, but note that it's seen the total fly over the number in 8 of its last 12 when playing on B2B nights.) The Magic got much healthier with the extra time off and its paying dividends in production on the court. I look for this total to fly over sooner, rather than later.
Scott Rickenbach: Rickenbach 10* NBA Contrarian Crusher TOP *20-11 / 65% RUN!*
This total, as of early game day morning, has already made a big downward move from 224.5 to 221.5 in early action on the game. I look for the Magic defense to struggle in a back to back situation and they have allowed an average of 118 points per game in their first three games. But even though they continue to give up piles of points, Orlando is in a battle for a playoff spot and they'll continue to battle hard in that regard. That means they'll have to turn to the offensive end to try and get an upset win here and the Magic are averaging 123 points per game in their first 3 games back. Though the Raptors, one of the top teams in the East, have been involved in a pair of lower-scoring games since the reboot I look for a different story here. The first two games for Toronto were against the Lakers and the Heat and, as a result, were more intense defensive-minded battles. The Raptors have dominated the series with the Magic and could easily overlook them here as a result. The point is a little less defensive intensity and a free-flowing game is likely. In typical contrarian fashion I am fading the early line move here but that is with good reason as explained above.
Alex B Smith: NBA Wednesday Top TV Total
The Toronto Raptors host the Orlando Magic tonight and both clubs are dealing with some injury issues, most notably the Magic who lost Center Johnathan Issac, who tore his ACL late in the blowout win versus Sacramento a few days ago. For the Raptors, they haven't been lights out shooting the rock and with Patrick McCaw out. their depth is tested a bit more here. Orlando is on the 2nd of a back-to-back and these two clubs have also gone Under the total in 11 of their last 15 meetings.
