With the NBA Season coming to an end, only few teams remain. The Lakers, Rockets, Clippers, Nuggets, Bucks (down 3-1,) Heat, Raptors (down 3-2,) and the Celtics are the final 8 teams left.
The Milwaukee Bucks have been extremely strong throughout the entire season, but they have finally found their match in the Heat. Down 3-1, I don't know if it will be possible to come back. Especially with reigning defensive player of the year/possible MVP pretty injured. Middleton exploded in Game 4 without him, and will look to do the same thing, if Giannis is to miss any more time. On the other hand, Miami has looked like one of the best teams in the entire league these playoffs. Guys like Dragic, Robinson, Herro and Adebayo have complemented Jimmy "Buckets" Butler very well. That is why I expect the Heat to take the series. Don't count the #1 seed out yet though.
The Defending champs are in a little bit of a whole going into Game 6 on Wednesday. Down 3-2, they will be facing elimination for the first time all playoffs. Pascal Siakam had a terrible Game 5 for them. The Raptors will need him to be at his best for the rest of the playoffs if they want any sort of chance at repeating, which is definitely a possibility. Kyle Lowry, and Serge Ibaka have been excellent as well. For the Celtics, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Kemba Walker have carried Boston so far. Marcus Smart has been solid as well. But when it comes to crunch time, with 3 rising stars, the Celtics have looked really sharp. This series could go either way. Look for the Raptors to have that "Championship Heart/Mentality" though, as they seek yet another title.
The Lakers and Rockets have had a very entertaining start to the Western Conference SemiFinals. The Lakers were very strong in Game 2 after getting absolutely pummeled in Game 1. With still lots of play left in this series, I expect it to continue to be a very high-tempo/fast pace series. Both teams have their strength, that's for sure. The Rockets have one of, if not the best backcourt in the entire league, led by James Harden. As the Lakers bring in, according to some, the greatest player in NBA History in Lebron, backed up by Anthony Davis. If Harden does his thing, as does Lebron, who knows who's going to take this series. Just like the Raps/Celts series, this one could go either way. I know the favorite is obviously LA, but do NOT count H-Town out one bit.
In the bottom half of the Western Conference, we have the #2 seed LA Clippers with a 2-1 game advantage on the #3 seed Denver Nuggets. Jamal Murray was stellar, in the seeding matches, as well as the Opening Round, but I have not been impressed with his play in this round. They are relying more on 2x All Star Nikola Jokic to provide the majority of the stats so far. The Clippers have looked stronger than ever before, especially with Paul George finally coming alive these past few games. With Kawhi and PG13 both peeking at the same time, I think that the Clippers have a real shot at winning the entire thing. Only if both of them keep it up though. I expect the Nuggets to give it their all, but for the Clips to be on another level here. Clippers take the series in 5 or 6.
What has been so intriguing to see, is that any team left has a chance this year. Other than the Bucks, (down 3-1) who started down 3-0 (no team in NBA History has ever come back from that,) this 2019-2020 playoffs will be very interesting. Don't count anyone out just yet though.
