Reason For Pick:
Chicago has lost five of their last six games so it may appear that the Bears are out of form and undeserving of laying points on the road. However, we see this game as the perfect time for Chicago to breakout and put a whopping on somebody. The Bears have played a brutal slate of opponents recently, including Houston, San Francisco, Seattle, Minnesota (2x), and Green Bay. Four of those teams are in the playoffs with the Vikings still in the hunt. Chicago doesn’t match-up with the upper echelon teams, but when they play the weaklings, the Bears tend to blow them out. Six of Chicago’s eight wins this season have come by 16 points or more, including road wins of 16, 38, and 31 points. We expect Chicago to bounce back strong with a focused effort in this game against the lowly Cardinals.
Arizona is the exact type of opponent that the Bears wax because the Cardinals offense is one of the worst in the league. The Cardinals snapped their 9-game losing streak last week against Detroit, but don’t be fooled by their 38-10 win. Arizona had a grand total of 196 yards of offense in that game as they scored all of their points off 4 Detroit turnovers, including 2 interception returns for touchdowns. The Cardinals average just 16 points and 264 yards of offense per game for the season. Arizona has totaled 196 yards or less of offense in four of their last five games and they are highly unlikely to have much success against a Chicago defense that allows just 17 points per game. Chicago is in desperate need of a big win so we’ll lay the points with the road favorite as they roll to an easy win over the hapless Cardinals.
9* Play BEARS (-).
