NFL Preseason

Texans at Panthers - 7:30 pm ET (NFL Network)

Houston head coach Bill O’Brien announced that all three of his quarterbacks will play in this game.  However, he did not say how long the trio of Tom Savage, rookie Deshaun Watson and Brandon Weeden would play.  Reports out of camp have been extremely positive on Watson, so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him get the majority of the playing time.  Carolina starting quarterback Cam Newton will likely miss tonight’s game after aggravating his shoulder in practice; the same shoulder he had surgery on in the offseason.  Despite the expected absence of Newton, the Panthers still have a solid preseason quarterback rotation of Derek Anderson and Joe Webb.  Carolina went from a 3-point favorite to a 1-point favorite after the news came out about Newton.  The Over/Under line has actually gone up from 36.5 to 38 because of the strength of the backup quarterbacks that will see the majority of playing time in this game.
