LEGEND Play (13-4 s/'05) in CFB tops Saturday's card!
Larry's 9* CFB Game of the Month won on Friday (Bowling Green, 36-20), which he expects will jump-start a HUGE Saturday in CFB. Memphis and Philly 'snuck over' in the NBA, as Larry moved to 6-0 with his 10* BKB plays this year. Larry's afternoon CBB plays will be available by 7:00 ET and his evening CBB/NBA games by 11:00 ET.
This 26-year vet has cashed 61.5% of his 26 CFB releases since Oct 21 and gets his Saturday off to an early start with his High Noon Showdown. Looking for an early game to jump-start your Saturday? Then look no further!
LEGEND Alert in CFB: Larry won his 1st LEGEND Play of the NBA season on 11/13, 105-79 with Denver over the Lakers. That's the kind of results regulars have come to expect from Larry's signature LEGEND plays (previously available to only his personal clients). His CFB record with LEGEND plays has been superb, going 13-4 (76.7%) in the regular season since '05 and that does not include his 2-0 sweep in LY's bowl season!. It's your move.
Larry's 9* Club 80 Plays represent the perfect 'marriage' between his fundamental handicapping and technical trends. He's 4-1 (80%) TY in CFB '09 and Saturday's Club-80 Play is backed by a 90% trend s/2000! Larry's PERFECT STORM plays in CFB have gone 7-3 (70%) in 2009. There is a 'storm' brewing in one college town on Saturday, so be sure to "batten down the hatches" and join Larry for his latest 9* PERFECT STORM!

REASON FOR PICK: Riddle me this. Has any school ever followed a 70-point outburst by losing its next 14 games? I don't know the actual answer to that question but let me introduce you to the New Mexico Lobos. New Mexico beat San Diego State 70-7 in Las Cruces back on 10/18/08 but hasn't won since. The Lobos followed that 63-point win by losing their final four games of the 2008 season and are currently one of three, 0-10 schools in 2009. The team's 14-game losing streak (4-10 ATS) is the second-longest active losing streak next to Western Kentucky, which has lost 18 in a row. The Lobos are off an excellent effort this past Saturday, losing 24-19 at home to BYU, which is currently ranked 19th in the latest AP poll. New Mexico QB Porterie played one of his better games of 2009, completing 28-of-44 for 272 yards with two TDs and zero INTs. This is New Mexico's home finale and the Lobos finish the season with a visit to Fort Worth on November 28. Simply put, fat chance the Lobos will beat the Horned Frogs, who will likely be playing with a BCS bowl berth on the line. That leaves this game vs Colorado State as New Mexico's "last chance!" The Lobos couldn't ask for a better opponent. The Rams opened the 2009 season by winning their first three games, the last of which came over Nevada, 35-20. That result is hard to fathom at this point, as the Wolf Pack have won all seven of their games since that loss (averaging 50.0 PPG), while CSU has dropped seven straight, going 1-6 ATS. The Rams had last week off but I'm willing to back embattled New Mexico head coach Mike Locksley to grab a much-needed first win. Take New Mexico.

Expert Biography
Age: 56
Years in handicapping: Ness entered his 26th year in the industry in August of 2009.
Achievements in handicapping: 1985 Castaway’s Pro Football Challenge Champion, then the most prestigious handicapping contest in Las Vegas; 1999 Stardust Invitational quarter-finalist;
A member of the original cast of Proline, the nation’s longest running pre-game handicapping show on the USA-TV network (also hosted Sports Desk on the same network). Although well-known on TV for his expert game analysis and no-nonsense handicapping style, Ness may be best known for his radio work. He hosted his own syndicated call-in radio show, Sports Central. It aired live from Bally's Casino in Las Vegas in the early to mid-90s and at one time was heard in more than 100 markets.
Systems used for handicapping a game: Fundamental, statistical analysis. "I'm not a trend and system kind of guy," Ness says. "I look at team strengths and weaknesses and compare them. It’s an all encompassing thing and over 25 years, you get good at it."
26-Club Play: It represents Larry's 26 years in the business and is the highest star-rating available on Covers Experts (10*s). Expect no more than one of these plays per month, per sport during the regular season.
LEGEND Play: Larry's often been referred to as a Las Vegas legend and he's 'borrowed' the title for his other "signature play.". Larry's LEGEND Plays were previously available to only a select group of private clients but they are now available to all, through the internet. Like his 26-Club plays, expect no more than one play per month, per sport (rated 10*s).
PERFECT STORM: Larry just added these plays this past year and his accompanying expert analysis makes these popular plays self-explanatory.
Club-80 Play: Larry's a fundamental handicapper at heart but he does pay close attention to team and situational trends (especially in MLB). When his fundamental handicapping and an 80% or better trend or situation match up, he releases a Club-80 Play. He just started releasing these plays in MLB '09 and they've become a fan favorite.
Oddsmaker's Error Play: Larry uses this term with "great respect" (and not very often), as he counts among his very closest friends, many of Las Vegas' most famous and respected Sport Book directors (past and present). However, when Larry feels "the line is significantly off," he'll release one of these "not to be missed" plays.
Weekly and Weekend Wipeout Winner: Larry added this self-explanatory moniker just a few years ago. They've become immensely popular and why not? Who wouldn't want a game that has "blowout written all over it?"
Late-Breaking Plays: Larry will always go back and take a "second look" at each day's card, after posting all his games. When he finds something he missed the first time around, he'll release a Late-Breaking Play. These plays are more prevalent in sports like baseball and basketball than football.
Superstar Triple Play: Over the years, many of Larry's regular clients have clamored for more three-game reports. You asked for it and Larry's responded. Back in the late 1980s and into the mid 1990s, 900-numbers became "the rage." While a panel member of Proline (see above), Larry created the Superstar Triple Play. One call got you three Superstar Triple Plays (in a particular sport). For almost a decade, anywhere from 1,500 to 3,500 callers responded each weekend, when Larry offered his famous "Superstar Triple Play" pitch on Proline. In 2009, Larry's going "Back to the Future!" Every Saturday (college) and Sunday (NFL) this football season, get three plays on a single report from Larry (many will be TV games), the originator of the "Superstar Triple Play!"
Star Ratings: Larry rates his games between 5 and 10*s, with most releases rated between 7-10 (his free plays are rated 2.5*s). A 10* rating is typically reserved for his two "signature releases" (25-Club and LEGEND plays), as well as his rare Game of the Year releases. In some cases, Larry will assign a 10* rating to one of his Game of the Month plays and during the postseason (in all sports), Larry typically adds an extra 10* or two. Larry's 9* plays are special and in most daily sports, are limited to no more than 10 per month. In football, they "come when they come." Larry's Oddsmaker's Error plays are almost always rated 8*s, while his Wipeout Winners, and Late Breaking Plays are rated 7.5*s.
Favorite page on Covers: I love the game
matchups and individual team home pages. In the daily sports (MLB, NBA and college hoops), it's my main source for handicapping. The game matchups provide me with "one-stop shopping", giving me all the info I need to compliment my own handicapping style.
Sports and conferences he excels at handicapping: MLB is Larry's favorite sports to handicap, saying the money is in the statistics. He 'loves' the daily action and the long season. "If I had to pick one sport, I would chose baseball because you’re playing pitchers, streaks, teams that are hot and cold," Ness says. "I love the NBA and NFL playoffs, the college bowl games plus the college tourneys, which are seasons unto themselves."
Why I like Covers Experts: The group of experts assembled is world-class and gives the clients a nice mix of technical, fundamental and trend or system handicapping. The customer service at CE is first-rate as well, making my job easy.
Quote: "No one works any harder and my work-product speaks for itself," Ness says. "I have a no-nonsense style and my logic is easy to follow. Anyone buying my plays will know exactly what I was thinking when I made the selection. After 26 years, the Larry Ness brand is instantly recognizable and my analysis ranks with the best in the industry."
