Today’s Free Pick
GAME: Buffalo Bills @ Jacksonville Jaguars Nov 22, 2009 1:00PM
SPORT: National Football League Picks
PICK: Jacksonville Jaguars
Offered at: -8 betED
REASON FOR PICK: We've gone 6-1 (86%) our last seven "Free NFL Home Page" selections with a big outright 6 1/2 point underdog winner with the Jacksonville Jaguars over the New York Jets last weekend. Congrats who all got down on that easy winner and also my winning "video pick" on the "over" in the same game ( >Parsons' 3rd "Free Video Pick Winner" in a row< ).
This week we're back on the Jaguars as for a number of different reasons I believe they'll take advantage of a floundering Bills team as Jacksonville makes a serious push to the playoffs:
To say Buffalo has had to deal with adversity this season would be an understatement; the Bills started their sixth different offensive line combination in their 41-17 loss to the Titans, and then had to blow that plan up when Demetrius Bell went down with a knee injury right before halftime.
It just seems to go from bad to worse for the Bills. Trent Edwards was back on the field after missing 2 1/2 games with a concussion, and he threw for 185 yards, but he giveth and taketh away as he tossed one TD pass to Lee Evans, and then threw a pick-six in the final three minutes that iced the game for Tennessee.
Marshawn Lynch has a laughable 254 yards in six games.
Buffalo is just 2-5 ATS its last seven overall.
On the other side of the field: Last week David Garrard had a 101.6 passer rating and threw a TD pass, and he wasn't intercepted against the Jets. He also directed a game-winning, 80-yard drive to set up the game-winning field goal in the fourth quarter.
Maurice Jones-Drew ran 24 times for 123 yards against the Jets to boost his total to 860 yards for the season and he'll look to have another huge day against a patchwork Bills defensive line.
On the defensive side: Rashean Mathis intercepted a Mark Sanchez pass on the first play of the game, and Quentin Groves intercepted a pass in the third quarter. The Jaguars held Sanchez to a 59.3 passer rating.
They also held Thomas Jones to 77 yards in 21 carries. Overall, they gave up just 110 yards rushing.
Bottom line: Two teams moving in different directions; a steady dose of Jones-Drew; an efficient and a limited mistake performance from Garrard, and an ever improving defensive unit; I recommend taking a serious look at JACKSONVILLE in this situation as I expect it to move to 5-2 ATS this season against conference opponents!
Parsons continues his red-hot November run! He's on an awesome 17-6 (74%) "Thursday Football" run and is a powerful 7-2 (78%) "Friday Night PUNI$HER" package streak! These big records combined with with his 3-1 (75%) *10* "TOP PLAY FOOTBALL" run will all be tested this week!

Expert Biography
Name: Nick “The BookieKiller” Parsons
Age: 36
Years in handicapping: 12 years overall, 10 professionally
Achievements in handicapping: Nick Parsons has been seriously involved in the sports handicapping industry since the late 1990s and has been successfully wagering on sports for his entire adult life. He has shown an uncanny ability to win at all the major North American sports, as demonstrated by his numerous national titles.
Nick’s long-term statistics are sensational. However, in this industry, many like to say “it’s not “what have you done”, but “what have you done for me lately.” That’s just fine with Nick, as his current documented records are every bit as impressive as his legendary long term numbers. Indeed, the first half of 2009 has truly been outstanding.
Nick wrapped up the recent NBA playoffs as the number #1 ranked handicapper, as documented by Sports-Watch of Las Vegas. Not satisfied to rest on his laurels, as of his debut at Covers, he is also currently the number #1 ranked baseball handicapper for 2009.
Nick’s highest rated play, “The BookieKiller” first gained notoriety in the 2004 college football season, going an astonishing 18-5 for the year. Naturally, that incredible 78.3% win percentage was the highest mark in the nation, (of any service that released a minimum of 20 plays) as documented by the Sports Monitor of Oklahoma City. The following season, Parsons’ “BookieKiller” releases were a powerful 67% in the NFL, again ranking among the best win percentages in the country. Currently, as of July 2009, these plays are on a 18-9 run. Note that Nick generally only releases one or two “BKs” per week.
Bookmakers have also learned to fear Nick’s renowned “Big Easy” selections.
These tickets, games which Nick feels will be “lopsided in nature,” are currently on a long-term 67-43 run.
Parsons earned several notable academic awards while attending University. During this time, he hosted his own sports show on a popular radio station. Listeners in the Pacific North West became familiar with his prowess at picking winners as he dazzled them with a 13-4 record during the NFL regular season, releasing one pick per weekend. He followed that up with a 4-1 mark through the playoffs.
Biggest Win of the Year: It's not over yet but 2009 has already been fantastic. I've had many huge wins, including winners with my NFL Game of the Year, NFL Total of the Year and my NFL Playoff Total of the Year, just to name a few. Of the many big wins, cashing my NBA Game of the Year on 1/14 stands out in my memory. The 76'ers were small home underdogs vs. Portland and everyone was jumping on the Blazers. I stepped out with my biggest bet of the year on Philly. The 76'ers won by a score of 100-79. Partly what made it so sweet was that it was part of a perfect 5-0 card, where I cashed my five tickets by more than 70 combined points.
Biggest Loss of the Year: Every loss hurts. A recent setback with Toronto will stick with me for some time. The Jays were up 8-0 and I decided to hit the gym for a couple of hours. When I returned, I found out they managed to lose by a score of 10-9. I've learned long ago to never count a game as a winner until it's over - that game was a painful reminder.
Systems Used for Handicapping: Parsons says: "I don't rely on one particular handicapping methodology. Rather, I attribute my success to the fact that I utilize a variety of handicapping techniques and that I know when to deploy each of them. I firmly believe that there is no substitute for hard work and I am fanatical about line value. In order to get the best lines, you can expect to see my plays up bright and early."
Play Ratings: Nick rates his plays on a 1-10 star basis. 10* plays are the strongest and are relatively rare. They include his, "Game of the Month" and "Game of the Year" selections, as well as his highly sought after "Bookiekiller" releases. His "Game of the Week" and "Big Easy" plays are either 8* or 9*. The rest of his guaranteed selections fall into the 6-9 range. Free plays range from 1* to 5.*
Favorite team to wager on or against: I'm not a "fan" and I'll play on or against any team, provided I feel that I'm being offered sufficient line value. I get a really good feel for many teams each season and that consistently seems true of the Seattle Seahawks.
Why you like Covers Experts: Covers Experts has assembled the best handicapping roster in the world and I'm proud to be a part of it.
Quote: I have always worked very hard at everything that I do. This work ethic has allowed me great success in handicapping and life in general. One of my favorite inspirational sayings is an ancient Chinese proverb that goes like this:
"No one who can rise before dawn three hundred sixty days a year fails to make his family rich."
I am not married and don't have children. My clients are my family!
