He placed #4 out of 50+ handicappers in the Wise Guys Football Contest in 2004 (60% winners). Scott followed that up with a #5 finish out of 70+ handicappers in 2005 (68% winners). He's absolutely ready for a repeat performance in the 2009 Football Season. Be sure and join Scott Rickenbach this season!
Biggest win of the year: In NBA the Toronto Raptors (a double digit
dog) dominated the Bulls from start to finish in Chicago in their April 2009 match-up. Many backed the Bulls in this spot as it was a "need to win" game for them but Scott had backed the Raptors big as it was an excellent situational spot for them in terms of the value. They were playing their best basketball of the season at the time and yet their non-playoff status meant the Bulls would overlook them - which they did. This play was Scott's NBA Game of the Year in 2009 and ended up being a most satisfying victory.
Biggest loss of the year: One of the most important aspects Scott has learned about handicapping through the years is not to dwell on the negatives. That said, there are a number of games that certainly could fit the bill as a "biggest loss" but it's better to move forward and look ahead. Sometimes the biggest loss can also be known as the "toughest beat" and we've all had our share of those!
Why Covers Experts?: The handicappers available at the website make it top-notch. You get high level analysis when you buy a pick at Covers Experts. I also enjoy the feature where the picks and results, along with the analysis, are shown the next day for each handicapper. Of course, pay only when you win is another great feature of Covers Experts.
Systems used to cap a game: Situational handicapping with emphasis on match-ups and line analysis. Focus on putting the odds maker on our side. Analyze the line and what the odds maker's objective is with the number he puts out on a game. It's then easier to beat the spread. Dissecting match-ups for key areas of strengths versus weaknesses that result in solid line value is also important.
Favorite stats/pages on Covers: The articles and injury updates at Covers provide very timely information. The Match-up analysis and statistical information is also very helpful.
Favorite team to wager on or against: Penn State has traditionally been very good to me. With Joe Paterno being at the helm for so long the Nittany Lions have developed a lot of consistencies in how they respond in certain situations that we can take advantage of.
Team I avoid when wagering: Scott doesn't mean to be so unspecific in this answer but facts are facts. The smaller schools in College Hoops are the teams that Scott avoids in regular season wagering. The level of consistency seen from these small schools is generally not enough to make one comfortable with putting out a play when there are much more consistent schools on the board.
Sports, conferences and divisions you excel in: Scott handicaps Baseball, Hockey, NFL, College Football, NBA, and College Hoops. In College Sports, he excels in the Midwest and Northeast Schools. The Rickenbach Family is from Pennsylvania. Scott also excels in the Big 12 as he now resides in Texas.
Quote: My Sports Service was founded on honesty and integrity. An immediate goal was to place my records right next to the tops in the industry. My approach to handicapping and the style seen in my write-ups is in refreshing contrast to the industry norm of stat based or trends and systems based analysis. Match-ups, scheduling situations, and related line analysis are keys for my consistent winning. For long term profits be sure and check in daily with Scott Rickenbach at Covers Experts so you can get a distinct players advantage.
