Biggest win of the year: I finished the NFL season with a nice win on the Colts in Super Bowl XLI. I felt Indianapolis was a much better offensive team and had a major edge at quarterback with Peyton Manning. The
Colts dominated the game more than the final score indicated and should have won by 23 points based on my mathematical re-scoring model.
Biggest loss of the year: A tough break with the Over/Under in Super Bowl XLI. I recommended the Over 47 to my clients and it barely missed as Indianapolis head coach Tony Dungy decided to go for it on fourth down from the Bears’ 17 yard line, instead of kicking an easy field goal with just 1:49 remaining in the game. This was the right decision from a coaching perspective as the Colts led 29-17 with just 1:49 remaining and did not want to risk a blocked kick, but it was not a popular choice for the hundred of thousands of bettors across the world that had Over 47 total points in the game.
Systems used for handicapping a game: I rely on both fundamental, situational, and statistical analysis to handicap games. I encompass player injuries, current form, motivation, coaching edges, and technical indicators.
